About Willie, the Artist

Onancock may be home for Willie Crockett but his heart belongs to the Chesapeake Bay. His love, knowledge, and respect for the Chesapeake Bay is denoted in his art. On any given day, it is not unusual to find Willie heading out onto the Chesapeake Bay. His unique manner of speaking is much like that of Elizabethan English. This identifiable dialect denotes a true "Tangierman" as Willie was born and raised on Tangier Island.

Even though Willie has not lived on Tangier for many years, Tangier Island seems to draw him back. Willie owns Willie Crockett Art Gallery and Studio in historic Onancock on the Eastern Shore of Virginia .
