Friday and Saturday

Friday evening begins with the Bell Atlantic Charitable Dinner Dance. Saturday is spent with an array of activities (water sports, Chesapeake Bay exhibitors and vendors, food and beverages*) at Onancock Wharf and shopping is available at antique and retail shops in Onancock. Transportation by Star Transit (handicap accessible) is furnished both Friday and Saturday:  Friday night transportation to and from Onancock Wharf  for the Dinner Dance at the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club and Saturday for anyone planning to visit the North Street Playhouse, historic Kerr Place (home of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society) and for those shopping around town who would like to take a break and ride instead of walking.  (*Event: ABC Licensed)
Sunday
The event closes Sunday morning at Onancock Wharf with the Eastern Shore of Virginia "Blessing of the Fleet", a Shore-wide Ecumenical Church Service with the Onancock Regatta Choir.  Before the Service, a continential breakfast is served at 6:30 AM.

What makes the Onancock Regatta Weekend so enjoyable is the diversity of events from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. The organizers of this event held in Onancock  make it possible for anyone to enjoy one event for one specific day or all of the events for the entire weekend.

Onancock is well known for its hospitality.  Make reservations early if you plan to stay the weekend.  There are 19th century bed and breakfasts and eateries with delightful and delicious foods located in historic Onancock, all within walking distance of  theatres, retail & antique shops, museum and Onancock Wharf.  (See Town of Onacock and Onancock Online below.)

Regatta 2000
September 15-17, 2000

The success of the regatta is largely responsible due to the support of businesses in Onancock and on the
Eastern Shore of Virginia.  It could not be accomplished without their contributions and in-kind donations; also through contributions by the private citizens and personal contributions made by
members of the Onancock Business and Civic Association.
